PBB out of scrap Empty
PostSubject: PBB out of scrap   PBB out of scrap EmptySeptember 30th 2008, 11:16 am

A few weeks ago I finally got the alu profiles and B-300 that Dino sent me.

Didn't have time to build a proper bench so I thought I'll make a temporary bench just to see how it all works.

Used only scrap laying around, frame made by one side of my old planer sled, legs out of a old loading pallet, few MDF strips and some particle board leftover.
Sliding brackets!

then I saw Dino's post on sliding brackets, what a great idea!

I needed my to be adjustable so I put a 50 mm screw at the top of bracket and three nuts, first one to fix the SME and the other two for the bracket.

Nuts shall be ones with the plastic inserts.

Now, I am able not only to slide SME but also align it to be perfectly square to the rail.

Maybe not so elegant but it works quite well and all my cuts are perfectly square.

Branko,

I would have to say that you are thinking EZ. Looks like a good bench, especially for a "temporary" one.

Have fun...

Thanks Dik,

start to like it myself, light and rock stable, this is first time I had the oportunity to put my hands on Dino's alu profiles and I must say they are great
