Smart Square - accessories Empty
PostSubject: Smart Square - accessories   Smart Square - accessories EmptyJanuary 4th 2009, 9:23 am

I am a weekend warrior and this may be foolish.......

I have a basic shop made PBB with the B-200, I own the smart square. I needed to 45 degree miter some trim for a small table top. I don't have a miter guage like Burt, and some of the guys. Idea

After setting the bridge height with my stock, I removed the rail, put the square on the rail and then mounted the rail on the bridge. Since the square is not as thick as my stock I used a scrap under the rail up against the square.

I have a plastic square from an art supply store. This square has a 90 degree corner and 45 degree angle on the longest side of the triangle. Butting the plastic square against the scrap which is against the square and aligning the trim against the plastic square angle side I was able to cut perfect EZ 45 degree miters in a matter of minutes.

I was thinking that Dino could make some accessories using UHMW with the most common angles. 45 degrees, 22 1/2 degrees, other angles suggested by EZ guys.
Perhaps start with the 45 degree. I have a sheet of 1/4 UMHW so I will try to create a proto-type.

Happy New Year !

Happy New Year Robert,

Excellent idea. Could you post some pictures of the setup?
