Joseph Myers - EZ Miter Gauge Empty
PostSubject: Joseph Myers - EZ Miter Gauge   Joseph Myers - EZ Miter Gauge EmptyMarch 17th 2009, 6:06 pm

This thread was originally posted on SMC by Joesph N. Myers. It is here with his permission.

Note: This is not a released product, rather one that Dino is working on. Dino wanted me to post this (I wasn't sure), but I see that EZ Users are buying miter products to adapt to the EZ System and this way, they can see what is coming (and then decide).

This first picture shows what Dino currently has. He explained a bunch of additions to be made to the "prototype" and they all made sense. Things like 360 degrees, detail alignment, lock downs and the likes. But you know Dino, he will add all the bells and whistles!

The next two pictures show cutting the miter and starting another miter with a couple of already cuts shown.

One really nice thing is when you combine the Bridge with the miter cut. Really easy to get the combination of the cut accurate.

Joe,

The first thing that comes to mind is that Dino's miter gauge has a full 180 degree range. How are you setting the angle?

Burt

Dino Makropoulos Replied:

Hi Burt.
Good miter news.
The angle indicator is adjustable so we can calibrate the miter gauge to the rail. I'm going to get more pictures in few days.

Randal Stevenson Replied:

I think Burt is asking about repeatably setting the angle. Is it marked in some way, are you using one of those angle gauges, or just a bevel gauge (per project needs)?

I realize it's a prototype, just trying to get some idea's as I have come up with a couple more mods to due to my miter gauge.

Burt Wadell Replied:

Randal,

I think what Dino said was that the "0" angle is adjustale to match the rail. Apparently he has an indicator of some kind. Otherwise there would be nothing to adjust.

Burt
