Bart Leetch - Cutting laminate

I used my system to cut laminate for the first time today it worked slicker than snot on a porcelain door knob.

Hi Bart.
Few ez hints when cutting formica.
Good face down.
Use solid support under the cutting line and clamp the guide to the support.
You can use a 12" strip of 3/4" plywood.
Set the depth of cut 1/4" deep.

If you have to cut mica many times, get the antiskid tape.
This way you set the guide anywhere without clamping.

Other than that...good job.

Imagine the same cut on the tablesaw?

Oh I could cut it on the table-saw I have ajig that keeps it from slipping under the fence.
But its so much easier doing the dead laminate trick!!!!

Actually these pieces of laminate are cut over sized then glued on cabinet doors & then trimmed on the table-saw along the 2 beveled edges & on a router table with a pattern bit for the 90° edges.
