Hi,

What EZ tools do you suggest to build speaker cabinets in mdf?

Maximum cabinet size will be 48"H X 24"W X 18"D. Front panel will be 1" mdf. All other panels and interior braces will be 0.75" mdf. Exterior will be paint or veneer.

I am thinking;
1 SGS-100
1 FS1
1 STK Smart Table Kit
1 STBL Legs
1 5008MGAez
???????

Brad,

With those tools you can build almost anything. I would suggest changing to the SGS-114. You will find the 64" rail to be better for cross cutting 48" sheets. The additional rail length makes beginning and ending the cut easier.

The square is one of my favorite tools in the EZ inventory.

Several of us are convinced that the 5008MGA is the best saw on the market for use with the EZ rails.

Welcome to the wonderful world of EZ.

Hi Burt,

Thanks for your suggestion on the benefits of using Dino's SGS-114. I'm new to the hobby as you might have guessed and not afraid to ask for advice. Very Happy I tell the new guys entering my other hobby (diy audio) that when ever you are in doubt, ASK!!

Just as a heads up, I've spent the last 8 years or so building solid state power amplifier and preamplifier kits. In a effort to expand my diy audio horizons, speaker building is the next step.

Thanks,
Brad

Hey Brad,
Welcome to the forum. I don't keep up with the abbreviations for the EZ tools like I should, but I would definitely recommend the circle maker if you don't already have a circle cutting jig for you router.
